You may notice signs of symptoms from mold before you actually see visual signs of mold. If this is the case, you want to do an inspection for water and mold in your home and possibly a air quality test.
Once you see visual signs of mold, you know you have a big issue on your hands that needs to be taken care of immediately.
Once you suspect or see visual signs of mold you should always get an air quality test by an industrial hygienist. Certified hygienist will be able to determine what kind of mold you have in your home, the mold spore count and be able to write you a proper mold remediation protocol.
Once you have selected a professional mold removal company to do the work, having the proper PPE is crucial. Don’t allow any company to do work without using protective equipment.
Here is the part where you actually remove the mold. Hand cleaning, HEPA vacuuming and spraying of anti-microbial are all part of the cleaning and removal process. Every square inch of the affected area needs to wiped down.
