Mold Symptoms & Signs
You may notice signs of symptoms from mold before you actually see visual signs of mold. If this is the case, you want to do an inspection for water and mold in your home and possibly a air quality test.
Find Mold Damage
Once you see visual signs of mold, you know you have a big issue on your hands that needs to be taken care of immediately.
Mold Test
Once you suspect or see visual signs of mold you should always get an air quality test by an industrial hygienist. Certified hygienist will be able to determine what kind of mold you have in your home, the mold spore count and be able to write you a proper mold remediation protocol.
Mold PPE Protection
Once you have selected a professional mold removal company to do the work, having the proper PPE is crucial. Don’t allow any company to do work without using protective equipment.
Mold Cleaning & Removal
Here is the part where you actually remove the mold. Hand cleaning, HEPA vacuuming and spraying of anti-microbial are all part of the cleaning and removal process. Every square inch of the affected area needs to wiped down.
Containment Setup
In the mold removal process you have to set up proper containment, to protect the non-affected areas from the affected areas. You don’t want to cross containment and have a bigger issue on your hands.
Post Cleaning Clearance Test
One of the reasons you take a pre test is when you get a post cleaning test you can measure the two and make sure the mold spore count went down to a habitable level inside. You want the levels inside the structure to be equal or lower than outside levels.
